Ukraine, Saudi Arabia Reach Deal on Defense Cooperation
In a statement on social media, Zelenskyy said the agreement, signed by the defense ministries of both countries ahead of his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, “lays the foundation for future contracts, technological cooperation, and investment. It also strengthens Ukraine’s international role as a security donor.”
He added that discussions with the crown prince covered developments in the Middle East and Gulf region, fuel market trends, and possible energy cooperation, among other issues.
Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, noting that “important meetings” had been scheduled.
Earlier on Friday, he met with Ukrainian military experts who have been in the Gulf nation for the past week assisting in countering Iranian drones.
